When the Cat is Away...

The mouse will play...

Online...

With my credit card...

Uh Oh.

The other half was on vacation in a great place called Phoenix last weekend so I was left to my own devices for 4 whole days. While browsing ModCloth on Saturday night I came across 2 great items that I just had to have.

The First...

I have a huge crush on anything and everything Kelly green right now. Last December my color crush was purple and I still love everything I bought. There was only 1 cardigan left when I came across this little number and after reading the reviews, I had to have it. Since a green blazer is hard to come buy, this is definitely the best next option. I am a little worried that it is one size fits all but I have faith...

And the second...

I am a huge fan of the circle scarves from ModCloth. I bought one in red last December and it is a staple in my wardrobe. I've wanted an all black scarf for a while now and black + circle = masterpiece.

I also received an AMAZING early Christmas present in the mail today...

Imagine my surprise when I opened a standard Canada Post CD envelope and found a perfect little blue box waiting for me. Upon undoing the ribbon, opening the box, and finally opening the cloth bag, a little blue present fell into my hands.

I love surprises!

Thank you so much to my B E A utiful sister Sarah! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! I am so lucky!

On another window shopping note...I think I found the perfect New Years Eve party dress. I'm sure there will be multiple variations of it on every girl since its short and sparkly but I don't care. I'm sold.

ASOS One Sleeve Dress in Glitter...45 Euros...I must keep up the shoulder workouts.

It's almost time to go shopping for myself (and the amazing other half) and I am so excited. There are a few things I must get and a few things I really want. Is it bad that my list already puts me over budget and I have yet to step into the mall? Mall = Surprise items for purchase that I didn't even consider!

- Dry Shampoo (This is a must. I am thinking Sephora for around $25)
- New workout clothes from Lululemon. I am thinking crops, tank and bra. Too much?
- Steve Madden boots. These will eat half my budget. Ugh.
- Grey work khakis. Sounds weird but I know they would be great. 34" inseam only.
- Dark blue blazer. To go with the grey khakis. Duh
- Long sleeve from Aritzia...too hard to describe.
- Gold jewlery
- Lots of more work stuff since I spend more time in my work clothes then my jeans.

I must learn how to get people to read my blog. This is great stuff.

Happy window shopping!

The Boyfriend. The Other Half. The Better Half? Hmm...

I love looking at clothes for the boyfriend just about as much as I like looking at clothes for myself. I used to think it was so much easier to buy stuff for him but then came Christmas 2010 and I realized I was delusional. It is not as easy as I thought because he has his own specific style and truly knows what he likes. This sets him apart because it is a rare quality for a man..and especially a man in a relationship. It doesn't make my life easy though because I have to second guess everything and secretly run the idea by him, without him realizing why I'm asking. Turns out he is also very intuitive and smart on top of stylish and honest. Seriously...you should be so lucky to see him dressed for work...

Ahhhmazing right??? I love grey and of course the Burberry pattern is priceless. Actually, it has a price tag, which is a little over $300 from Nordstrom. This would add a whole new dimension to "casual" Friday's.

I am a huge fan of 7 for All Mankind or Citizen jeans for men. To me, they say "well dressed but on the DL". I love the dark wash which would go great with the Burberry sweater. They are also well priced at $150 - $200 depending on the style.

This sweater from Joe's Jeans had me sold as soon as I saw the hood. i am a sucker for layering and a hood helps complete the look. Piperlime has just started carrying men's clothing and they have quite a few dandy's already. $189.

This can be the bottom layer. Simple, yet effortless. Alternative 3/4 Raglan shirt $34.

Bomber jackets are not a favorite of the other half but this one is so affordable and since grey matches so well with jeans, I just had to add it. A Nixon brand jacket might also be pushing the envelope but for only $150 it should definitely be added to the closet. I also really like the checkered detail in the hood. Genius.

Puma is a great classic, affordable, casual shoes. I like the idea of adding a blue or grey runner to the mix since most will already have a white and black runner. Currently on sale at Zappos for $48.

Fun socks are a must. Marc by Marc Jacobs at Bloomingdales $20.

I couldn't help it...J.CREW $12.50

Men's clothing is great because a few key pieces can go a long way. Dark jeans and a few solid v-necks complete the weekend look. A well fitting suit, collared shirt, and great shoes complete the weekday look. Look good, feel good.

Happy window shopping!
