When the Cat is Away...

The mouse will play...

Online...

With my credit card...

Uh Oh.

The other half was on vacation in a great place called Phoenix last weekend so I was left to my own devices for 4 whole days. While browsing ModCloth on Saturday night I came across 2 great items that I just had to have.

The First...

I have a huge crush on anything and everything Kelly green right now. Last December my color crush was purple and I still love everything I bought. There was only 1 cardigan left when I came across this little number and after reading the reviews, I had to have it. Since a green blazer is hard to come buy, this is definitely the best next option. I am a little worried that it is one size fits all but I have faith...

And the second...

I am a huge fan of the circle scarves from ModCloth. I bought one in red last December and it is a staple in my wardrobe. I've wanted an all black scarf for a while now and black + circle = masterpiece.

I also received an AMAZING early Christmas present in the mail today...

Imagine my surprise when I opened a standard Canada Post CD envelope and found a perfect little blue box waiting for me. Upon undoing the ribbon, opening the box, and finally opening the cloth bag, a little blue present fell into my hands.

I love surprises!

Thank you so much to my B E A utiful sister Sarah! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! I am so lucky!

On another window shopping note...I think I found the perfect New Years Eve party dress. I'm sure there will be multiple variations of it on every girl since its short and sparkly but I don't care. I'm sold.

ASOS One Sleeve Dress in Glitter...45 Euros...I must keep up the shoulder workouts.

It's almost time to go shopping for myself (and the amazing other half) and I am so excited. There are a few things I must get and a few things I really want. Is it bad that my list already puts me over budget and I have yet to step into the mall? Mall = Surprise items for purchase that I didn't even consider!

- Dry Shampoo (This is a must. I am thinking Sephora for around $25)
- New workout clothes from Lululemon. I am thinking crops, tank and bra. Too much?
- Steve Madden boots. These will eat half my budget. Ugh.
- Grey work khakis. Sounds weird but I know they would be great. 34" inseam only.
- Dark blue blazer. To go with the grey khakis. Duh
- Long sleeve from Aritzia...too hard to describe.
- Gold jewlery
- Lots of more work stuff since I spend more time in my work clothes then my jeans.

I must learn how to get people to read my blog. This is great stuff.

Happy window shopping!

The Boyfriend. The Other Half. The Better Half? Hmm...

I love looking at clothes for the boyfriend just about as much as I like looking at clothes for myself. I used to think it was so much easier to buy stuff for him but then came Christmas 2010 and I realized I was delusional. It is not as easy as I thought because he has his own specific style and truly knows what he likes. This sets him apart because it is a rare quality for a man..and especially a man in a relationship. It doesn't make my life easy though because I have to second guess everything and secretly run the idea by him, without him realizing why I'm asking. Turns out he is also very intuitive and smart on top of stylish and honest. Seriously...you should be so lucky to see him dressed for work...

Ahhhmazing right??? I love grey and of course the Burberry pattern is priceless. Actually, it has a price tag, which is a little over $300 from Nordstrom. This would add a whole new dimension to "casual" Friday's.

I am a huge fan of 7 for All Mankind or Citizen jeans for men. To me, they say "well dressed but on the DL". I love the dark wash which would go great with the Burberry sweater. They are also well priced at $150 - $200 depending on the style.

This sweater from Joe's Jeans had me sold as soon as I saw the hood. i am a sucker for layering and a hood helps complete the look. Piperlime has just started carrying men's clothing and they have quite a few dandy's already. $189.

This can be the bottom layer. Simple, yet effortless. Alternative 3/4 Raglan shirt $34.

Bomber jackets are not a favorite of the other half but this one is so affordable and since grey matches so well with jeans, I just had to add it. A Nixon brand jacket might also be pushing the envelope but for only $150 it should definitely be added to the closet. I also really like the checkered detail in the hood. Genius.

Puma is a great classic, affordable, casual shoes. I like the idea of adding a blue or grey runner to the mix since most will already have a white and black runner. Currently on sale at Zappos for $48.

Fun socks are a must. Marc by Marc Jacobs at Bloomingdales $20.

I couldn't help it...J.CREW $12.50

Men's clothing is great because a few key pieces can go a long way. Dark jeans and a few solid v-necks complete the weekend look. A well fitting suit, collared shirt, and great shoes complete the weekday look. Look good, feel good.

Happy window shopping!

On The Radar

With Christmas coming up my mind is on overdrive thinking of the perfect present for the bf. Recently, I did an excellent job in the gift giving department for a special birthday celebration and I must keep the streak alive. However, this post has nothing to do with the bf's gift but as I rack my mind (and the mall) for him, I have come across a few items I would like to purchase for myself. Take note, this is not my official Christmas wish list. That will come later...along with a possible boyfriend list.

Today I had an awesome (in my opinion), classic, outfit idea while sitting in a meeting at work (I'm clearly in the wrong industry). I would love some grey work pants (the lighter grey shade), a blue blazer, and a cute white or off white blouse. I don'h have pictures but if I find the perfect grey work pant...I will let you know.

This beauty can be purchased at Urban Outfitters for $78.00. I also would like a royal blue one, tan, and grey. Urban Outfitters doesn't have green but I would like them to.

I saw this scarf in person, in kelly green...but didn't buy it. Shame on me.

Thank you, Dorthy Perkins. $12.00

I just purchased shoes very similar to this and love them. I think I scared my coworkers with my height but it was totally worth it.

Holiday Dresses

It's tiiiiiiime! The holiday season is here. Christmas parties are starting and it's time to play dress up. Who feels pretty in a cute dress and heels? I do! I do! I do!

I like the idea of buying a new dress for every fun event but sometimes you have to weigh the price of the dress against being able to make the car payment. A repossessed car is WAY more embaressing than a repeated dress. Sometimes though, its in the budget. Jackpot.

This classy little number is from Modcloth.com. At $180 I consider it a mid point price. $100 is afforable and $300 means you absolutely love it (and secretly will wear it again). $500 means you better be part of a wedding party and were forced to buy it.

These shoes didn't know it at the time, but they were created for this dress. Amazing. The price? $35. Oh my.

I am really loving the one shoulder look and I think this will be on my radar when picking a dress for the upcoming office party. This dress by TIBI was originally $425 but went on sale for $225. I think it could definitely be dressed up with a skinny, gold, glitter belt and gold glitter heels. It would also look great as is, paired with nude heels (to make the legs look extra long).

I think these shoes are appropriate if your going the glitter route.

This dress is adorable and probably the closest one to my style. This photo is courtesty of pinterest.com so I am unsure of the price and where to buy it. So unfortunate.

I can't wait to find the perfect party dress. Only 3 weeks until the office party. Happy shopping days ahead!

It's Been FAR Too Long

I love reading other peoples blogs and have a list of favorites so I REALLY need to try to keep up my own. I find stuff I love, want and even need every single day so perhaps my 2012 NY's resolution will be to update my own blog at least 3 times a week.

In the past 10 (eek) months my wants list has grown substantially (I had to Google to spelling of that).

Recently I added...

Tiffany Trefoil Key Pendant $1685

Gold Tiffany items are substantially more than the silver ones. I am loving my gold Nixon watch and need necklaces and earings to match. I am also lusting after the Tiffany & Co Heart Tag Earings in gold.

Steve Madden Ruckuss Boot $229

I have been wanting these boots from the moment I saw them. I will buy them some day very soon.

With Christmas season fast approaching I am looking forward to finding a new dress. This above photo is courtesy of pinterest.com so I don't know where it is from or a price. Possibly the best part of buying a new dress is buying new shoes to match...

Also courtesy of pinterest.com...sorry. Unfortunately these shoes don't match the dress above but they would really dress up a cute black number.

1 word. pinterest.

I am IN LOVE with kelly Green everything. I want a kelly green Marc Jacobs wallet, a kelly green blazer and a kelly green infiniti scarf. I bet this color will start popping up everywhere very soon but in the mean time it is hard to find!

March Finds

I am still in love with Cardigans and found a super cute one on piperlime.com

Kensie $78.00

I have also been noticing a ton of white jeans being uploaded to clothing site lately and a lot of bell bottom jeans which brings me back 11 years ago to grade 9...

Citizens of Humanity, Angie Super Flare, $228

I am really liking liking Tory Burch right now and I think now that I have a Michael Kors purse I want to work up to a Tory Burch purse...or Marc by Marc Jacobs.

Marc by Marc Jacobs, Classic Q Hillier Hobo, $400

Michael Kors also has some super cute sandels this year. While in the MK store at my local mall on the weekend they had cute flip flops with silver MK hardware for $40! What a steal!

Michael Kors, Nadia Thong, $79.00

Cutest Necklace!

I haven't ever been to the Swarovski site before but they have a ton of cute jewlery and its well priced. Most of the cute necklaces and rings I like are between $100 - $200.

This little gem is more expensive but so cute. It's limited edition and I would love to own it.

Amazing Finds

I have decided I REALLY want a pair of sunglasses with chains. Sounds weird but I saw a photo of someone in them and fell in love! I found an awesome pair by House of Harlow 1960 that are called "Cassie"

I love browsing the "What's New" section of clothing sites and recommend these sites for great finds:

Shopbop.com
Modcloth.com
piperlime.gap.com

I wish my Mexico trip hadn't already passed since I found some super cute bathing suits yesterday but I guess the positive it that summer is coming! I love the new Marc Jacobs styles and the new leopard print and snake skin print Vix swimsuits.

And last but not least on my radar is the Nixon Player watch in gold. I think a cute girlie outfit or a summer dress with a gold watch would look amazing.

Happy window shopping!
